Recognizing and Rewarding Your Employees: The Best Promotional Items of 2014

Recognition and appreciation is the most valuable thing you can offer your employees. Whether it's a gift card, a t-shirt, or a coffee mug, your workers will be grateful for the gesture. While most business owners and managers realize the importance of employee appreciation, they are often stumped for original ideas, or worried their gift will come across as shallow or stale.  In addition, the type of item you offer your employees may impress or offend depending upon the environment of your office.  In order to help you chose the best promotional gift for your employees, we thought we’d share some insights from our customers this year. But first a basic primer on employee recognition:

Employee Recognition Programs

Employee appreciation should extend beyond National Employee Appreciation Day. To make a lasting impact, you should implement a regular program that recognizes and awards workers for a job well-done. This program should be planned carefully and customized to your unique company.  Get to know your employees' likes and dislikes, and try implementing them into your program. Don't be afraid to think outside of the box, as well.  A recognition program can be a great way to not only reward your employees, but also boost productivity at your office. Keep in mind these can be things like organizing a company softball team, organized yoga, a toast masters club, a community 5k run, years of service, most improved employee, dinners, trips and more.

Best Promotional Items

When it comes to gifting or outfitting your employees, it may be easy to jump to the traditional cash or gift card prize, but at Jungle we caution you to think twice before making a final decision.  Those things are temporary; try thinking of gifts that will make a lasting impact.  In addition, have your company logo printed or embroidered on the items for an added personal touch.  Logos are back in a big way this year, but in a way that combines your logo with another quality logo. Here are some examples of hot sellers that are getting great feedback:

  • Titleist Golf Balls with company logo
  • Insulated Travel Mugs
  • Custom Tote Bags
  • Insulated Lunch Bags/Coolers
  • Under Armor Shirts

No matter your budget or time limitations, you can provide your employees with a quality gift that represents your brand, as well as the strength of another. Always keep in mind that happy employee’s equal productive employees. So send them on their family vacation this summer with a sleeve of quality golf balls or an Igloo cooler for the beach or a custom tote for that trip to the cabin.
